Return of the Six Pack... Sort of

For those who may remember, I previously had a feature here, called "Six Pack", which was an mp3 download of six trip-hop/lounge music tracks.

I've taken my original concept, adjusted it a bit and decided to adopt it as a way to share my current interests in Indie Rock.

Since six songs can fluctuate in wide ranges in length (some songs can be less than two minutes and some as long as ten minutes), I've changed it to ensure that each post will be at least thirty minutes long.

Thus we have the new "Indie Thirty": Thirty minutes of randomly selected songs from my current playlist.

Albums in my playlist at the moment:

Arcade Fire - Arcade Fire EP
Arcade Fire - Funeral
Belle and Sebastion - The Life Pursuit
Cat Power - The Greatest
The Decemberists - Picaresque
Destroyer - Destroyer's Rubies
Fruit Bats - Mouthfuls
Iron and Wine - Woman King
Iron and Wine/Calexico - In the Reins
Jose Gonzalez - Veneer
The New Pornographers - Twin Cinema
Spoon - Gimme Fiction
Various Artists - Paw Tracks eMusic Sampler

There's also a few extra tracks that I've downloaded from either eMusic or the artist and label's website that are mixed in. As I purchase new music, I'll be adding to the playlist.

And now for this week's Indie Thirty:

1. Belle and Sebastian - We Are Sleepyheads
2. Iron and Wine/Calexico - Dead Man's Will
3. The Decemberists - The Mariner's Revenge Song
4. The New Pornographers - Jackie, Dressed in Cobras
5. Iron and Wine/Calexico - Red Dust
6. Iron and Wine - Jezebel
7. Cat Power - Empty Shell
(Running time: 30:18)

Go here to download this week's set.
Or click here to stream it.

If you like this kind of stuff, be sure to check out the individual artists over at eMusic. Just about all of them are available for download there.

And if you want to hear even more Indie music, head over to KANM 1690 AM and click on one of their live streams. KANM is a college radio that I've mentioned here before that specializes in Indie Rock (it's where I first heard of Arcade Fire).

If things go well, I'll be posting a new set each week. I'm shooting for Mondays, but we'll have to see.

In the meantime, enjoy this episode.
