Random Character Creation for the D6 System
To quickly create characters for the D6 system, use the following chart.
Follow instructions after the chart to balance.
1D100 roll
01-04: less than 2D (roll 1D6: 1-3=1D+2, 4-5=1D+1, 6=1D)
05-12: 2D
13-24: 2D+1
25-40: 2D+2
41-60: 3D
61-76: 3D+1
77-88: 3D+2
89-96: 4D
97-00: greater than 4D (roll 1D6: 1-3=4D+1, 4-5=4D+2, 6=5D)
To balance, add the total dice of the character, including pips. Every three pips (+x) equals 1D.
The target number for balancing, with six attributes, is 18.
(If you're using Mini-Six, which has four attributes instead of six, the target number is 12.)
If the total dice is less than 18, determine the difference and add it to the lowest rolled attribute.
If the total dice is greater than 18, determine the difference and subtract it from the highest rolled attribute.
If multiple attributes are tied as the lowest or highest when choosing where to adjust, distribute the points evenly among them.
For skills, take the attribute score of the governing ability for intellect in your game (usually Knowledge), remove the pips and make a roĺl.
Take the highest number showing on the dice rolled and add the number of pips of the attribute to this number.
This will be the number of skills your character knows.
For Body Points, roll the character's Physique (or game equivalent) and write it down.
Then take their Physique and assume each of the dice rolled came up as '3'. Add any pips.
Compare this number with the one rolled and choose the greater of these two scores as the character's Body Points.
